All of the doors and the liftgate lock and the beep sound activates at the currently set volume.I got curious and ended up searching and reading from several other forums about the same complaint, some with very sad consequences such as damage with it opening inside a garage, to a person having a laptop with years worth of pictures stolen. This was also an occurrence for cx-5, mazda 3, and mazda 6 owners too in addition to cx-9’s. Per the title, the rear hatch will not open even when all the conditions are met--vehicle in park, parking brake applied, ignition off, driver door unlocked--the actuator doesnt make any move when using the key fob, the button on the dash, or the button on the exterior of the hatch. Open a rear door and press the lock button on the remote. Locks chatter, but won't lock because door is open. Go to boot, press button, it opens. I have no idea why this worked for me.
